Field Notes

Lewis & Clark

Coming soon: Social Media functionality for nature-worshipping, fun-loving outdoor adventurers.

Hikers, bicyclists, surfers, skiers, backpackers, etc., famously love to take photos and videos of their escapades. This tendency dates back from 18th century adventure journals through vacation home-movies to Facebook.

There is no viable outdoors-focused social website that sufficiently meets this need. (Not yet.)

We are building an interactive FIELD NOTES feature that will invite Hilltrompers to share their experiences with a community that shares their interests.

For example: You find Manresa State Beach on Hilltromper. While there you see a pod of dolphins surfing the waves. You take a picture, hit the Hilltromper app, which takes you to the Manresa Page, and upload it. (Go ahead and think of it as “PlaceBook.”)

Field Notes also empowers our users to learn more about the places they love by asking questions of Hilltromper’s army of mostly-amateur naturalists: Hilltromper Guides.
