CA State Parks Backpacking Adventures - Skyline Sojourn 2023

Just because Skyline to the Sea is closed doesn’t mean you can’t get your fix of ridges and redwoods! California State Parks Backpacking Adventures longest and arguably most epic adventure of the summer, The Skyline Sojourn 2023 will take us on a roughly 30-mile tour spanning four parks full of stunning skyline and rich redwood forest.

Bay Area Older Adults Russian Ridge Wildflower Trek

Join Midpen partner, Bay Area Older Adults, for a free hike at Russian Ridge. This easy-to-moderate 4.3-mile spring walk will be led by a wildflower expert and will take participants on a one-way journey on the best trails to find as many wildflowers as they can! Russian Ridge is known for its spectacular display of colors. Attendees will end the day with a social picnic lunch with a view. Transportation from Saratoga CA and picnic lunch are included. Volunteer Day at Castle Rock State Park

Join Sempervirens Fund in tending the native garden and learning about the local plants. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and maintenance cages used to protect the plants from browsing deer. Work will be moderately strenuous and may take place on sloped and uneven terrain. Tools and gloves will be provided, but if you have your own equipment, we suggest bringing it along. We recommend wearing a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and durable shoes.

DIG DAY: Soquel Demonstration State Forest Trail Maintenance
