Date:

Sat, 07/19/2014 - 20:30

Enjoy a refined evening of fine music, celestial bodies, and a 25,000-pound refractor telescope. The University of California’s Lick Observatory begins its summer concert series, which features live music, presentations from world-class astronomers, and if weather permits, gazing through the Nickel and Great Lick Refractor telescopes.

The second evening of the summer series will feature the Ancient Future, the first and longest running organization dedicated exclusively to creating world fusion music. The speaker will be Geoff Marcy of University of California, Berkeley on "One Small Step: Other Earths and Intelligent Life in the Universe".

Saturday, July 19. Lick Observatory, summit of Mount Hamilton, off Interstate 680. 8:30pm. Tickets $40-$150, available here. Children must be 8 years or older to attend.
