Open Studios 2014

Date:

Sun, 10/12/2014 - 11:00

One reason October around these parts is so great is that hundreds of Santa Cruz County artists fling open their studio doors to the art appreciators among us. But how to choose whom to visit? Many worthy artists beckon, and you probably ought to purchase the Art Council's 2014 Guide (or install its new app) in order to make an informed decision. Or you could just go with our bias toward artists who are as obsessed with nature as we are and call it good. These North County artists, whose work is on display this Saturday and Sunday, caught our attention:

Doug Ross
312 Poplar Ave, Santa Cruz. Silkscreen prints inspired by coastal living & wildlife.

Marc Shargel
190 Orchard Rd, Felton. Photographic prints of ocean life.

Stephanie Martin (Stephanie's etching "Year of the Pelican" is featured on this page)
129 Miles St, Santa Cruz. Etchings of birds & flora.

David Hartley
910 Pelton Ave, Santa Cruz. Nature photography.

Andrea Rich
706 Western Dr Santa Cruz. Color woodblock prints - birds and wildlife.

Chela Zabin
7011 Empire Grade, Santa Cruz. Watercolors of tidepool creatures, algae and beach objects.
