Docent Hal Anjo leads us along the road—or trail—less travelled, by Union Creek, to Sempervirens Falls, and back through the majestic redwood forest. This is a 4-mile, 3.5-hour hike, best for adults and tough kids. Bring layered clothes, water and hiking shoes. Meet at park headquarters .
Big Basin Redwoods State Park, 9 miles outside of Boulder Creek on Hwy 236. 12pm. Free, but parking is $10. Map to Big Basin .
