Big Basin is giving you carte blanche to stare at the sun—through a solar telescope, that is. Here Comes the Sun! is an educational good time for the whole family.
Santa Cruz Astronomy Club's Steve Widmark will be on hand to tell you all about that big burning ball in the sky. Spy on solar sunspots and prominences while you soak up information about the sun and how it shines. Don't know what a prominence is? You'll find out! There will even be activities for the kids, so it's educational fun for the whole family. Forget stargazing, this is gazing at THE star.
Big Basin Campfire Center, near Park Headquarters. 11am-1pm. Free but parking is $10.
