Rancho Del Oso Wildflower Walk

Date:

Fri, 06/05/2015 - 22:30

Docent and naturalist Scott Peden leads a leisurely 4-hour, 4-mile hike to see the summer blooming plants of Rancho del Oso.

Eden says the first .75 miles of the hike—which starts at the gate by Highway 1—"always has lots of flowers in bloom you wouldn't expect to see elsewhere."

Fit for photographers, hikers, hiking photographers or anyone in between, this trail features a variety of blooming wildflowers despite the season. Start at the Rancho del Oso Nature and History Center with lunch, energy and water. Prepare to be amazed.

Rancho del Oso Nature and History Center, 3600 Highway 1 (17 miles north of Santa Cruz). 10am-2pm. Free. Map to Rancho del Oso.
