Winter showers bring May flowers to the Waddell Valley. Blooming buttercups, shooting stars and western wake robins are only some of the 50+ native flowering plants that line the park's trails. Keep your eyes peeled for a couple non-native species as well during this weekend-long treat for the senses.
Rancho del Oso unit of Big Basin State Park, 17 miles north of Santa Cruz on Highway 1. Saturday and Sunday. 12pm-4pm. Free.
