For months volunteers with the Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz toiled to build the 1.5-mile Emma McCrary Trail through the Pogonip. Today MBoSC joins dignitaries from the City of Santa Cruz, including Mayor Hilary Bryant, in celebrating the trail's official opening. The festivities begin at 10am at the trailhead on Golf Club Drive and include a ribbon-cutting and interpretive ride. This day has been a long time coming, and it will no doubt be a high-spirited event. Pogonip (Golf Club Drive entrance), 10am. Free.
