The poster art for the 19th Annual Watsonville Strawberry Festival is titled "Berry Sweet Ride." With twelve music acts on the schedule, each and every one followed by its own celebratory pie eating contest, its easy to believe the advertising. Those hesitant to plunge their mugs into an entire pie in public will find an array of delectable berry-flavored treats to enjoy, including the famed strawberry pizza. They may call it a contest but, in the end, everyone wins.
Watsonville City Plaza on Main, Peck, and Union Streets. 10 am-7 pm. 8/3-8/4. Free Admission. $5 Parking.
