Northern fur seal Ziggy Star was rescued by the the Sausalito Marine Mammal Center (MMC) in April. Though recovering nicely (he's posting articles about his personal running team and promoting online donations, for Pete's sake), Ziggy is unable to return to the wild. To keep this fellow and his friends flush with herring, make the trek north to participate in the 4-mile run or 2-mile walk. A free Family Fun Day at the MMC will follow. Ocean-themed costumes are encouraged. Register online before 8/9 or at the event.
Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands, Sausalito. Check-in 7am. Run 9am. Run - Adults $35, Children $20. Dogs and kids under 4 free.
