Pictured above is John Caletti. He builds bikes, one by one, per request. Designing a custom bicycle is an intimate process, and Santa Cruz boasts six local craftsmen (including Caletti) who have made that process their career. If you’ve ever entertained the idea of a bike that is uniquely you, and wanted to meet the people who make two-wheeled dreams come true, here’s your chance. These builders are hosting a ride through town, beginning at the Bicycle Church, traveling above UCSC, and returning through the Westside. Other Bay Area frame builders and machinists will be present. BBQ and shop talk after (1pm).
