Training Stewards of the Land Established in 1990, the Homeless Garden Project provides job training, transitional employment and support services to men and women experiencing homelessness. Participants in the one-year training program work 20 hours a week at minimum wage and have access to weekly job training workshops in addition to weekly meetings with social work interns.
By bringing people together from throughout our community in the beauty and security of their certified 3.5-acre organic garden, the organization hopes to break down the isolation and stigmas associated with homelessness.
The community is welcome from dawn until dusk every day to enjoy the farm, and the Farm Stand is open for You-Pick crops every day from 10am to 4pm. Volunteers are welcome Wednesday-Sunday. Email or call for more information, or visit the Homeless Garden Project website.
