May 8, 2024—[Santa Cruz, California] The purpose of the inaugural Santa Cruz County Wildfire Resilience Summit by the FireSafe Council of Santa Cruz County is to inform and inspire the general public and other presenting organizations with presentations and panels on shovel in the ground and shovel ready wildfire resilience happening in Santa Cruz County.

Pre-registration is being asked for this free event at https://www.firesafesantacruz.org/wildfire-resilience-summit. Participating organizations include the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, CAL FIRE, California State Parks, Bureau of Land Management, Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County, Santa Cruz County Office of Education, Santa Cruz County Office of Response, Recovery & Resilience. Presentations on Wildfire Prepared Homes and Firescaping. There will be an Innovation in Wildfire Management panel and Understanding Policy & How It Affects Your Community panel. The purpose of the FireSafe Council of Santa Cruz County is to educate and mobilize the people of Santa Cruz County to protect their lives, homes, community, and environment from wildfire. Events like the Wildfire Adaptation Speaker Series are inclusive, educational and followed by a brief Q & A
