Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz biggest current trail-building project, the Soquel Demo Flow Trail, was selected last week as a finalist for a piece of the $100,000 Bell Built Grant, given to organizations that build pump tracks, flow trails and downhill / gravity trails.
The money comes from the Scotts Valley-based Bell Bicycle Helmets (which also makes the upscale Giro helmets) and is administered by the International Mountain Bicycling Association. The winner is chosen by vote by members of IMBA.
MBoSC has been on a sustainable-trail-building tear recently, with big wins including the Emma McCrary Trail and the West Side Pump Track.
