Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship

Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship logo.Creating and maintaining world-class trails responsibly, sustainably, and collectively since 1997. SCMTS believes that trails are a gateway to the adventure, fun, exercise and sense of wonder offered by the great outdoors.

The work of Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship expands and enhances sustainable trail networks so everyone has a place in enjoying and protecting the Santa Cruz Mountains.

It was in 2021 that Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz (MBoSC) rebranded as Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship (SCMTS). SCMTS envisions Santa Cruz County becoming the model for sustainable trail systems, community stewardship and land manager partnerships, by design, construction and maintenance, through community collaboration, partnerships and world-class events.

SCMTS is behind popular trails at Soquel Demonstration State Forest, Wilder Ranch State Park, and Pogonip, and bring together thousands of volunteers for trail work events each year. Some of the trails and pump tracks they've built: Flow Trail, Sawpit Trail reroute, Emma McCrary Trail, West Engelsmans reroute, Enchanted Loop reroute, Ramsay Park Pump Track, Harvey West Pump Track, Chanticleer Pump Track, Gloria Jean Tate Pump Track, and the Westside Pump Track.
