7th Annual Taste of the Harbor

Date:

Tue, 09/16/2014 - 16:30

It's mid-September, and that means the annual Taste of the Harbor benefit is here. Proceeds fund O’Neill Sea Odyssey, which instructs youths grades 4-6 in geography, math, natural science and conservation. But these kids aren’t learning in a lecture hall—lessons take place aboard a 65-foot catamaran as it sails Monterey Bay and, post-sail, a shoreside learning center. The program is free to students and is funded in part by tonight's dinner, which takes place at the picturesque Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. Food and libations will be provided by the Crow’s Nest, Café El Palomar, Johnny's Harborside, Aldo’s, The Kind Grind, Zameen’s Mediterranean Cuisine and Hula’s, while 49ers legend Dwight Clark, a.k.a. “The Catch,” will provide some of the entertainment and the memorabilia-signing services (for a donation to OSO, naturally). Live music and a raffle will round out the festivities.

Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor, on the beach in front of the Crow's Nest. 4:30pm to sunset. Tickets $56 early registration, $60 at the door. www.tasteoftheharbor.com.
