More than 15 years after it was first proposed, a multi-use trail through Arana Gulch is finally a reality. Made of porous concrete, and with bridges at either end crossing Hagemann Gulch (on the Frederick Street side) and Arana Creek (on the 7th Avenue side), the path will allow Santa Cruz bike commuters easy access from the East Side to the West Side without having to brave the traffic on Soquel Avenue. Eureka! Celebrate with the Kuumbwa Jazz Honor Band, refreshments and tours.
At the Hagemann Gulch Bridge, accessible and with parking at 440 Frederick St, Santa Cruz. 2-4pm. Free.
