Birding Along the San Lorenzo River Walk Series

Date:

Sat, 08/30/2014 - 08:30

The Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History is partnering up with the Santa Cruz Bird Club to make your Saturday mornings a whole lot better. And birdy-er, but that’s not a word. Birding experts from the SC Bird Club will be leading early-bird workshops along the San Lorenzo River — where over two hundred bird species have been spotted migrating or residing on the river. Bring your bird-loving families and friends of all ages for a morning of feathered awe and knowledge.

This Saturday morning will be led by Alex Rinkert, a local of the Santa Cruz Mountains and an undergraduate in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at UCSC. A master of birding field trips, he’s guided local organizations, offshore expeditions, along with the SC Bird Club. He’s currently studying the various bird populations in the Monterey Bay region, along with being a devoted eBirder.

San Lorenzo River (specific location TBD). Free. Space is limited, so register here. Comfortable footwear and binoculars, if you have them, are suggested for the optimal birding experience.
