A barn is a place to cultivate and store livestock and crops. But Jared Lawson, Pie Ranch executive director, has bestowed upon his barn a new purpose: to cultivate ideas and spark conversation about how we handle food.
Borrowing from popular TED Talks, which serve as high-powered soapboxes for community members, are BOB Talks. BOB stands for Big Ol’ Barn: the venue in which speakers engage audiences about food production and distribution. This week’s talk is the first of the series, during which Bob Scowcraft, organic agriculture pioneer, will present his talk: “People’s History of Organic.”
