Learn wilderness survival techniques at Big Basin Redwoods State Park. Docent Steve Stolper will host a 5-hour workshop that covers risk assessment, the psychology of survival, shelter and the "Rule of 3s." Dress for a day hike. Bring a least 1-liter of water, lunch and snacks. In Part 2 of this course, on July 24 from 10-3, we'll cover fire, water purification and signaling for help.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park, 9 miles outside of Boulder Creek on Hwy 236. Meet at Park Headquarters at 10am. Free, but $10 for parking. Map to Big Basin Redwoods State Park
