City of Santa Cruz residents: put your tree out on your regularly scheduled trash collection day between Jan. 2 and Jan. 14, and the city will pick it up for recycling. Or, if you just can't wait to get the damn thing out of the house, you can drop it off from Dec. 26 through Jan. 31, 7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Saturday, at the Resource Recovery Facility GreenCycle area. Just make sure there are no ornaments or tinsel on it. And no flocked trees.
