It's official: Demo Flow Trail Segments 3 and 5 are open to the public starting today. Adopted by Fox and Epicenter Cycling, respectively, they provide 2/5 of the "swoopy goodness" that will eventually be available to all up in Soquel Demonstration Forest, near the summit of the Santa Cruz Mountains above Nisene Marks.

Says the Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz website: "The Demo Flow Trail is beginner friendly but requires fitness to get there. From the Demo parking lot off Highland Way, expect a 4 mile ride to the ceremony location and a 3/4 mile climb to the top of the first open segment, with a 4 mile climb back out to the parking lot. We will have signage posted to keep you on course."

At 9am enjoy Verve Coffee and Red House Bakery treats in the parking lot
At 11am be there for the ribbon cutting at the bottom of Segment 5
From 1pm to 4pm enjoy refreshments provided by Fox and Epicenter.

Soquel Demonstration State Forest Highland Way parking lot, 5.5 miles east of Old San Jose Road on Highland Way. 9am. Free.
