Docent Barry Grimm leads a leisurely walk through some of California's most scenic country. These moderately-paced hikes vary in length between 2 and 8 miles, depending on the group's experience level and weather conditions. There will be numerous short stops to marvel at the towering redwood trees and enjoy the wildlife sharing the forest with us. You'll learn new ways of looking at both. Bring sturdy walking shoes and dress in layers because temperatures vary. Bring trail snacks and water, a camera, and your natural curiosity.
Meet at Park Headquarters. Big Basin Redwoods SP, 9 miles outside Boulder Creek on Hwy 236. Noon. Free, but parking is $10.
