Join Pieter Folken (whose bio includes but is not limited to: naturalist, mariner, illustrator, photographer, author and publisher) in a discussion about one of the greatest threats worldwide to whales: entanglement in fishing gear and marine debris. Folken will focus specifically on the California coast and discuss a recent case study about tracking a disentangled whale for weeks in rough seas and how the team eventually freed it. There will also be a book and poster signing by Folken after the discussion.
