A special Thanksgiving morning dog-friendly hike (wheelchair- and stroller-friendly, too!) gives you a reason to get out of the house and work up an appetite for later on. Join one of the Big Basin docents and her canine buddy on this 3-mile, two-hour walk along North Escape Fire Road in Big Basin, a closed-to-traffic road that follows lovely Opal Creek past some truly stunning trees. Meet at park headquarters.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park, 9 miles outside Boulder Creek on Hwy 236. 2pm. Free, but parking is $10.
