About 5 miles up the Eagle Rock trail is a view of the Santa Cruz Mountains that will make you wag your hiking tail. It's the highest point in Big Basin, at 2,500 feet, so of course it has the best view. The hike is fairly strenuous, so be sure to bring lots of water and a trail snack. 21700 Little Basin Rd, Boulder Creek. Located off Highway 236. Turn left on Little Basin Rd. go 1.6 miles to the campground. 9am. Free.
