The California Coastline is pretty wacky, especially in our neck of the woods. Seriously, it makes us question the sanity of Mother Nature. But we aren’t complaining! Check out the beauty of geology on a walk to Cove Beach, where you’ll see where faults collide along with ancient fossil beds, forgotten shorelines, and a mysterious river of sand. Suitable for all ages. Rain cancels. Wear comfortable shoes for this one-mile, one-hour walk and bring water and snacks.

Año Nuevo State Park. 1 pm. Free, parking is $10. Meet at the picnic tables next to the Marine Education Center. Call (650) 879-2025 for more information.

Read about coastal geology and how we almost had a nuclear plant built south of Ano Nuevo in Ano Nuevo Geology Walk and Escaping Radioactive Death.
