Edible Plants of Elkhorn Slough

Date:

Sun, 04/28/2013 - 13:00

A person can get a bit peckish out on the trail. But what can you eat without ending up like that poor kid in Into The Wild, all poisoned and sad? Keith Rayburn and Bree Candiloro lead a 90-minute foray into Elkhorn Slough in search of edible and medicinal plants used by the Ohlone. Bring a bib; you'll be tasting these plants, too. Likely to be among them is miner's lettuce, pictured. Sunday, April 28, 1-2:30pm at Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, 1700 Elkhorn Rd, Moss Landing.

Cost is free for members, $14 for nonmembers. Register here.
