Melodrama! History hikes! Fun games for kids! The annual Founders' Day at Big Basin promises to be lots of fun this year. At 9am, head over to the Sempervirens Room for free coffee and hot cocoa and a fun craft event for the kids. Docent Kathy Willott will answer any questions you have about the park's founding and give you directions to the right trail for you. At 1pm, the Big Basin Melodrama kicks off. It's a unique play where you actually walk along with the characters, including an early conservationist, the first female park ranger at Big Basin, and a pioneering homesteader. End the day with a campfire and Native American stories at 6:30pm where you'll get to roast marshmallows as you listen to tales of Native history in Big Basin.
