Did you hear the one about the fungus? I'll tell you, but it might grow on you.
HAR! If you like that joke, you'll love the fungus funnies inspired at Santa Cruz's annual Fungus Fair. The Fungus Fair features hundreds of local mushroom species, complete with cooking demonstrations, talks by fungus specialists, and a Kids' Room with hands-on activities. Wild mushrooms are sold so you can take a taste of the fair home with you. Whether it's a pizza topping or a anti-cholesterol medicine, fungi have a special, figurative place in all of our hearts. Join us at the Fungus Fair and maybe meet a fungi!
Today's presenters include Chris Hobbs on the healing properties of mushrooms, Debbie Viess on Amanitarita's Freaky Fungi, Henry Young on mushroom toxicity and Noah Siegel on mushrooms of the redwood coast.
