Date:

Sat, 07/13/2013 - 10:00

Discs are for Frisbee, supporting vertebrae, and in the case of Secchi discs, assessing water clarity. Join the City of Santa Cruz Water Department and the Coastal Watershed Council as they celebrate the Great American Secchi Dip-in, where they'll measure water transparency in Loch Lomond. The day’s events include a short hike and presentations from experts on public water systems and natural resource management. Festivities are held at the Loch Lomond Recreational Area, where guests may fish, hike, or picnic.

The Loch Lomond Recreational Area is located in Lompico at 100 Loch Lomond Way. Attendees should bring water, snacks, layered clothing, and appropriate footwear. Space is limited (50 guests maximum), so please RSVP by email (tours@coastal-watershed.org) or calling the Coastal Watershed Council at 831.464.9200.
