Not for the faint of heart! This 5-miler (RT) ascends 1200 feet to the dramatic rock formation and sweeping overlook called Buzzard's Roost. After a nice lunch on the rock we'll head back down the mountain. Bring at least a liter of water, lunch, good shoes and layered clothing. Docent Steve Stolper will be taking point. Not recommended for small children.
Meet at Park HQ at Big Basin Redwoods State Park, 9 miles from Boulder Creek on Hwy 236. 10am-2pm. Free, but parking is $10. Rain cancels.
