Get a gander at the Candelabra Tree, Butano's famous multi-trunk old-growth redwood, when parks interpreter Sara leads a moderate to strenuous 25-minute hike up a hillside in the newest part of the park. Meet at the park entrance to carpool to to a point near the trailhead.
Butano State Park, 1500 Cloverdale Rd, Pescadero. 1-3pm. Free, but parking is $10.
