Ditch the mall today! Come work off that extra helping of punkin' pie on our guided Black Friday hike, The Natural Wonders of Henry Cowell. Leading our crew through the redwood forest and sandhills up to the Observation Deck will be docent extraordinaire Alex Trudelle, who'll be pointing out fun facts and amazing stuff along the way as we pass through the multiple ecosystems of marvelous Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.
This will be a moderately strenuous 3-4 mile hike with about 600 feet of elevation gain. It should last 2 to 2.5 hours. The park might be crowded that day, so if the parking lot is full (which is how fees are collected), then consider parking in Felton and walking or riding a bike into the park itself.
Henry Cowell Redwoods SP, 101 N. Big Trees Park Rd (off Hwy 9). Meet in front of the Park Store. 11am. Hike is free, but parking is $10 unless you got in on that sweet Save The Redwoods League Black Friday deal.
