Join in on the fun and light up that two-wheeled hot rod of yours! The third annual Light Up the Night community bike ride, hosted by Bike Santa Cruz, is hitting the streets the evening of March 11. With a growing Facebook following and 200 riders last year, this will be a packed house for local citizens looking to promote safe cycling practices and maybe meet some new people.
Bike and helmet decorating will take place from 5-7pm. Free bike lights will be given to the first 30 riders to arrive, followed by prize awards for the brightest lit rider, bike, and most creative costume. The ride begins at 7pm and will follow along the San Lorenzo River path. All ages and levels of rider are welcome.
Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, 705 Front St, Santa Cruz. March 11. 5-9pm. Free.
