Marine Mammal Research Tour

Date:

Sun, 09/27/2015 - 14:00

If you’ve ever been curious about the cognitive capacity of a bottlenose dolphin, or whether sea lions can keep a beat, then visit the Seymour Marine Discovery Center to see where and how scientists go about exploring the lives of our flippered friends. On select Thursdays and Sundays of each month, the center hosts 90-minute, behind-the-scenes tours of their research facilities. The center is home to two Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, three California sea lions, and a harbor seal. Register in advance, as space is limited to 12 participants. Tours are best suited for children of 10 years and older.

Seymour Marine Discovery Center, 100 Shaffer Rd, Santa Cruz. 2pm. Free with admission; reservations and advance payment required. Adults $8; seniors, students and kids 3-16 $6; toddlers free. 831.459.3800.
