Date:

Sat, 07/23/2016 - 10:30

Discuss forests, flowers, and fires on a 3.5-mile hike on Meteor Trail in Big Basin Redwoods State Park, site of the tallest redwood in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Docent Hal Anjo leads this diverse hike, which passes oak woodlands, chaparral, riparian corridors and of course redwoods. A 328-foot-tall redwood—the tallest in the Santa Cruz Mountains—is found on the Meteor Trail.

Bring water and snacks for this 3.5-hour ramble.

Meet at Park Headquarters, 9 miles from Boulder Creek on Hwy 236. Noon. Free, but parking is $10.
