Music of the Spheres at Lick Observatory

Date:

Sat, 06/29/2013 - 20:30

Enjoy a refined evening of fine music, celestial bodies, and a 25,000-pound refractor telescope. The University of California’s Lick Observatory begins its summer concert series, which features live music, presentations from world-class astronomers, and if weather permits, gazing through the Nickel and Great Lick Refractor telescopes.

Next week’s artists are Grammy Award-winning Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel. UC Santa Cruz astronomer and recent recipient of the National Medal of Science Sandra Faber will present her talk, “the Milky Way Galaxy, Quantum Fluctuations, and Schroedinger’s Cat.” Children must be at least 10 years of age.

Lick Observatory, summit of Mount Hamilton, off Interstate 680. 8:30pm. Tickets $44.50-$156.50, available here.
