Enjoy a refined evening of fine music, celestial bodies, and a 25,000-pound refractor telescope. The University of California’s Lick Observatory begins its summer concert series, which features live music, presentations from world-class astronomers, and if weather permits, gazing through the Nickel and Great Lick Refractor telescopes.
The last evening of the summer series will feature classical guitarist Daniel Roest and steel-string guitarist Stevie Coyle, . The speaker will be Chris Fassnacht of the University of California at Davis on "Measuring the Universe with Gravitational Lenses".
Saturday, August 16. Lick Observatory, summit of Mount Hamilton, off Interstate 680. 8:00pm. Tickets $40-$150, available here. Children must be 8 years or older to attend.
