Enjoy a refined evening of fine music, celestial bodies, and a 25,000-pound refractor telescope. The University of California’s Lick Observatory begins its summer concert series, which features live music, presentations from world-class astronomers, and if weather permits, gazing through the Nickel and Great Lick Refractor telescopes.
The first evening of the summer series will feature the Dave Rocha Trio playing an eclectic mix of jazz standards and pop tunes. The speaker will be Sandra Faber of University of California, Santa Cruz on "The Thirty-Meter Telescope: California's Flagship Telescope for the 21st Century".
Saturday, June 21. Lick Observatory, summit of Mount Hamilton, off Interstate 680. 8:30pm. Tickets $40-$150, available here. Children must be 8 years or older to attend.
