Everyone knows driving an electric car makes you sexier and better looking. Come kick the tires on a BMWi3, Tesla Model S or Chevy Volt (test drives available) and get in touch with your inner hottie while the kids work on robots.
In celebration of National Drive Electric Week, Ecology Action is hosting an electric car fair at the Capitola Mall. They'll have the Kia Soul, Tesla Model S, BMWi3, Nissan Leaf, Toyota Rav 4, Chevy Volt and other electric vehicles on hand for you to ogle, plus an EV bus. And you can test drive the Volkswagen E-Golf, the BMWi3, the Chevy Spark and the Nissan Leaf. You'll also get the chance to try out electric bikes and scooters and to talk with electric vehicle owners about their experiences.
Not sure what to do with the kids while you dream about your new life in your new car? Learning to Discover will offer the chance for kids to build robotics and assemble a miniature solar-powered car—then race the final product at 3pm. This activity is best for kids 9-12; they should be accompanied by an adult. Signup starts at noon.
Finally, there will be a free raffle with the chance to win an electric vehicle charger from Clipper Creek, so you can start your EV-driving career off right.
