Michael E. Loik, associate professor of Environmental Studies at UCSC,will be speaking about the effects of California's 2011-2015 drought and the widespread effects of El Niño at home and abroad.
Professor Loik's research is focused on how weather and climate are shape ecological patterns and processes. His work has taken him all across the U.S. and even to Costa Rica and Australia. If you are interested how climate affects the environment, then this is a lecture that can't be missed.
