One reason October around these parts is so great is that hundreds of Santa Cruz County artists fling open their studio doors to the art appreciators among us. But how to choose whom to visit? Many worthy artists beckon, and you probably ought to purchase the Art Council's 2014 Guide (or install its new app) in order to make an informed decision.
Or you could just go with our bias toward artists who are as obsessed with nature as we are and call it good. These artists, and many others, are showing their work Saturday and Sunday as part of Open Studios Encore Weekend. Studios are open 11am-5pm.
