A lot of artists make Santa Cruz County their home, and for the next three weeks they in turn open their homes to Santa Cruz. Today is Day 2 of weekend one.
This week it's North County artists serving up the goodies. You nature-worshipping, fun-loving Hilltrompers might appreciate the following landscape and critter artists: Andrea Rich (woodblock prints of birds and other creatures), Barbara Bailey Porter (oil landscapes), Mark Yanowsky (seascapes on reclaimed wood), Katherine Stutz-Taylor (woodblock relief landscapes) and Doug Ross (animal silkscreen prints). You can buy handy calendars that function as guides at Bookshop Santa Cruz, Palace Arts, White Raven Coffee, all branches of Santa Cruz County Bank and a zillion other places.
Open Studios North County, Sat-Sun Oct 5-6. Admission free, but calendar/guide is $20. Learn more at Arts Council of Santa Cruz County.
Read our recommendations for Open Studios - South County, Oct. 12-13.
