Join the Santa Cruz County Parks Department and the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter at this fundraiser for the county's Youth Recreation Programs. From noon to 4pm, Simpkins Family Swim Center will be canine fun central as dogs enjoy Tricks Training and Scent Work classes, mani-pedi services, doggie massage, Pupp-tinis and professional photos. And the humans will get in on the action, too, with barbecue from Carmona's Food Truck, beer from local breweries, art activities sponsored by the MAH and scheduled pool activities involving the water slide, inflatable hamster wheels, SUP boards and Wibit (sort of a giant Tinkertoys for the water).

Simpkins Family Swim Center, 979 17th Ave, Santa Cruz. Noon-4pm. Tickets $15 (adult) or $5 (ages 20 and under), available here. Kids under 3 and dogs get in free. Day-of tickets $17 and $7.
