Filmmaker Judy Irving, who directed the famous documentary Parrots of Telegraph Hill, is back at it. This time, both she and her stunning new documentary Pelican Dreams are coming Santa Cruz. This beautiful film explores the lives and challenges of California brown pelicans. On Nov 16 the Nickelodeon is hosting a special showing of Pelican Dreams with a question-and-answer session with Judy Irving following. The proceeds from the showing will benefit the Santa Cruz non-profit Native Animal Rescue, which rescues, rehabilitates, and releases injured and orphaned wildlife.
