Pigeon Point 142nd Anniversary Celebration

Date:

Sat, 11/15/2014 - 10:00

California State Parks and the Coastside State Parks association are throwing a party celebrating the 145nd anniversary of the Pigeon Point Light Station. Bring your family and friends to chat about coastal history with local authors and discover the light house history with keepers and docents. Don't like history? You can listen to live music, enjoy refreshments, and scan the sky and seas for birds and whales with well-informed volunteers. If you're interested in bringing some local color into your garden, there is a native plant sale. Children can enjoy a scavenger hunt with prizes and fun facts about the lighthouse. You can also stop by and admire the historic Fresnel Lens from the lighthouse tower, on display in the Fog Signal Building. There is also a fundraising raffle—you don't have to be there to win!

This year, there is a unique event at sunset: an outdoor slide show, "Reflections on the Tower," will be projected onto the tower itself. The slide show starts at 5:30 pm.

Pigeon Point Light Station. 210 Pigeon Point Road, Highway 1, Pescadero. 10am-6pm. Free.
