Ever feel the urge to dress as a polar bear and plunge into the Monterey Bay on a cold February day? You can support Special Olympics Northern California athletes by dressing up and jumping in (or dipping a toe) while raising money for a good cause on Feb. 28. This fun and freezing fundraiser features a costume contest, people of all ages jumping into the Bay, and festivities following. And remember, no wet-suits you wimps!
Registration opens 10am with costume judging at 11:30am and the polar plunge happens at 12pm. To create your own team or be apart of an already existing one register here. Raise a minimum $125 for the Special Olympics Northern California (plunging optional). Plungers are eligible to purchase an all-day Boardwalk ride tickets for $22 for use that day.
Main Beach, Santa Cruz. 10am. Free to watch. Registration required to participate.
