Popup Picnic at the Mission Adobe

Date:

Thu, 07/21/2016 - 11:00

Get outside, take a lunchtime walk and have a picnic with a view at the Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park every Thursday this summer. Also called the Mission Adobe, the park offers awesome views of downtown Santa Cruz from a private-feeling vantage point atop a bluff overlooking Pacific Avenue. Order a delicious, inexpensive lunch from Taquitos Gabriel's (3 carnitas tacos for $6! quesadillas look good too), grab an agua fresca and choose the sunny patio or the shady lawn. Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks even supplies cute tablecloths so you can spiff up your table. Attitude adjustment guaranteed!

If it's really hot out, pop inside the 200-year-old Mission Adobe itself and see how they did air conditioning back in the 19th century.

Access the Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park via the staircase next to the colorful mural on Mission Street between Center and Emmett.

Mission Adobe, 144 School St, Santa Cruz. 11am-1pm.
